Hi! I'm Liande

Who am I?

The most important thing in my life is that I am a child of God. I have been a born-again believer most of my life, 43 years to date. I cannot survive without Jesus. Whenever I face a challenge or trauma, God is my go-to. Where else can we go for answers, strength, and guidance? God is not my crutch, He is my everything. I am not ashamed of the truth that I need God daily. 

I grew up in a little settlement in the Northern Cape, South Africa. We had a lot of fun as children, playing outside without a care. I learned how to catch frogs and birds, and how to throw kleilat (A long stick with a ball of mud on the one end that is flung by swinging the stick). We played many games with friends from different colour and race. My best friend was a little girl called Mary. Her mother worked in our kitchen.

After school I went to study BA Drama at the University of the Free State and from Bloemfontein, I moved to Johannesburg for my first job at the SABC. I was part of the television production team of children’s programmes.

I was married twice and have three children. They are all happily married and I am the granny of four beautiful grandkids.

Like any life story, there is so much more to share about my life, but I will stop here and rather invite you to do life with me. Let’s face the future together!
